Hello, and welcome to my page. I am honored that you are considering me as a partner in your mental health journey. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with more than seven years of experience providing psychiatric care across urgent care, crisis stabilization units, inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, walk-in medical clinics, emergency departments, and telepsychiatry.
My approach to treatment
At the heart of my practice is the belief that everyone deserves compassionate, respectful, and high-quality care. My approach is warm, empathetic, and collaborative. I take time to understand you as a whole person—not just a diagnosis—and I value open dialogue, questions, and shared decision-making. I’m open-minded and solution oriented.
I recognize the responsibility that comes with prescribing medications and approach this with great care, using controlled substances only when truly appropriate and always with your long-term wellness in mind.
My goals are to ensure safety and quality in every decision, foster self-understanding through education, inspire empowerment and motivation, and promote lasting wellness through a holistic, person-centered approach.
Modality: Supportive psychotherapy
My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing, and psychoeducation to support meaningful and lasting change.
What you can expect from our first session
Your first session is an important step toward building trust and understanding. During this visit, I’ll take time to learn about your history, current concerns, and goals for treatment through a thoughtful, comprehensive evaluation.
I’ll also provide teaching about your condition and discuss the available treatment options so you can make informed decisions about your care. By the end of our first session, my goal is for you to feel supported, understood, and confident about the next steps in your journey

Dr. Thomas Johnson
First and foremost, I believe that the most effective healthcare is built on true teamwork, moving beyond “siloed” psychiatric care with little to no focus on medical diagnoses and treatments for other conditions.
Any medical treatments including psychiatric do best when we respect the significant, bidirectional relationship between your mental and physical health.
Because these two areas affect each other-both positively and negatively—your safety is my top priority. This is why I emphasize reviewing a fully updated medication list, including over-the-counter supplements, at every appointment.
Periodic labwork is critical as well.
Selecting the right medication requires sound clinical judgment that looks at your whole medical picture, not just a psychiatric diagnosis;
For instance, a medication with a specific profile might be a high risk for one patient but actually offer protective health benefits for another patient.
Even one over the counter medication can change the balance .
Just as importantly, your choice or decision depends on open communication to identify exactly which side effects you wish to avoid most. Sometimes side effects for one patient can be an unexpected benefit for other patients with jist a slightly different presentation
Pharmacotherapy is rarely the only solution.
I look forward to building a trusting partnership where we work together.
